유엔산하기구를 목표로 하는 프랑스학생의 카플란 런던 어학연수 경험수기!

Q : Tell us about yourself – where are you from, and how old are you?

(Q: 자기소개 간단히 부탁드립니다.)

I am 25 years old and I recently finished my master’s degree in human resources. I am from Haute-Savoie, in France, on the border of Switzerland.

저는 25살이고 최근 대학원 과정을 human resource(인적자원)을 전공을 맞쳤어요-!. 저는 프랑스와 스위스의 경계선인 Haute-Savoie 에서 왔어요-!

 Q: How long are you studying for, and what course are you taking?

(Q: 어학연수기간은 얼마나되었고, 어떤 어학연수과정을 들었나요?)

I started at Kaplan Leicester Square on February 24 and I will be here for 5 months. I am studying an intensive English course, and my elective classes are vocabulary and pronunciation.

저는 카플란 레스터스퀘어(카플란-런던)에서 2월 24일부터 어학연수를 시작하였고 5개월동안 어학연수를 할 예정입니다. 저는 집중영어과정을 들었으며 저의 보충수업(일렉티브클래스)은 어휘부분과 발음을 선택하였어요-!

Q: Why did you choose Kaplan?

(Q: 카플란을 선택하게된 이유는 무엇인가요?)

I did some research on the internet and I found Kaplan. Also, one of my friends studied at Kaplan Edinburgh, and she recommended it to me.

리서치를 해서 카플란을 발견하였고, 그리고 제 친구가 카플란 에딘버러학교에서 공부를 하였는데 그친구가 추천해주었어요-!

Q: Since your arrival, do you think your English has gotten better?

(Q: 여기온 이후로 영어실력이 늘었나요?)

Yes, every week I see the progress. when I arrived, I was only studying for one month, to see if the results were significant. I decided to extend my stay.

네, 매주 저의 실력향상을 확인할수 있어요. 여기서 1달수업으로 아주 짧게하는 학생은 저밖에 없는데 그래서인지 실력이 부쩍 느는게 느껴져요. 그래서 어학연수과정을 조금 연장하기로 결정하였어요-!

Q: What level were you when you arrived, and what is your English level now?

(Q: 어학연수를 하기전에 어학실력이 어떻게 되었나요? 그리고 지금은 어떻게 되나요?)

I started my course at lower intermediate level, and now I am advanced!

저는 초증급레벨 (lower intermediate level) 이었는데 지금은 상급자레벨이예요-!

Q : What do you do with your free time in London?

(Q: 여가시간에 런던에서 주로 무엇을 하나요?)

we like going to the parks, we visit different museums, we go salsa dancing… I can get a lot out of the city and practice my English.

친구들과 공원을 가거나 다양한 박물관 그리고 살사댄스를 배우러가는걸 좋아해요. 그리고 영어를 늘리기위해서 런던밖 근교도 많이 가요.

Q: How is student life in London?

(Q: 런던에서의 학생으로서 생활은 어떠나요?)

When you make the choice to go abroad, you have to rebuild your social life, as you don’t know anyone. Everyone is in the same situation, so it is very easy to meet new people and make friends.

사실 다른나라에 가면 지인이 없는 상태여서 새로운 사람들을 사귀어야되요. 근데 저같은경우는 다 비슷한 학생들이 모여있어서 친구들을 사귀기 굉장히 쉬워요-!!

Q : How do you think this course has helped your personal development?

(Q: 어학연수과정이 개인적으로 어떻게 도움을 주었나요?)

From a personal point of view, I am naturally shy, and I have made a lot of friends, and I am always pushing my limits. From a professional point of view, I want to work in Switzerland in an organization such as the UN, so being able to speak English is essential.

개인적으로 보았을때 저는 굉장히 수줍음이 많은 사람인데 여기서 친구들도 많이 만날수 있었고 그리고 제자신의 한계를 뛰어넘기위해 계속 노력하고 있어요. 프로페셔널한 부분으로 이야기를 하자면 저는 UN 산하기구에서 근무하고 싶은데 이곳에서 일을 할 수있도록 영어실력향상에 큰 도움이 되었습니다.

Q: Do you think this course is an investment for your future?

(Q: 본인이 생각하기에는 어학연수가 미래를위한 투자라고 생각하나요?)

I think yes, because I need English for my career and so I can get a job in line with my plans and what I want. Kaplan is a well-known school and serious, so for me it has been a rewarding experience from a personal and professional point of view.

저는 그렇다고 생각해요. 저는 제가 하고싶은 일을 위해서 영어가 꼭 필요하기떄문이예요. 카플란은 유명한 학교고 그리고 진지하게 영어를 가르치기때문에 저에게는 개인적으로도 프로페셔널한 방면쪽으로도 좋은 선택이었다고 생각해요
